5 Virtual Product Ideas for Health/Fitness Professionals

Sharing is caring!

Are you a health or fitness professional looking for more ways to earn? Here are 5 virtual product ideas to add to your income.

A few years ago, I was just a mom blogger who also happened to be working with a personal trainer. After speaking to several trainers (while they kicked my butt in workouts), I realized that there’s a huge gap in the fitness blogger market.

Every personal trainer I talked to in real life was in one of two situations:

  1. They had no idea they could use a blog or social media to make money online or;
  2. They knew they could make money online but didn’t know where to start.

Now, most of you know that there are plenty of health coaches and personal trainers all over the web. Trainers are using YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and more to increase their training income and share their talents. Some are even 100% online – meaning that they don’t train in person at all.

I took note of this gap in the market but didn’t really do anything about it since I was a “mom” blogger. But about two years after starting to work with my first trainer, I decided to become a personal trainer myself. And now I’m a “fitness” blogger, too!

5 Virtual Product Ideas for Health or Fitness Professionals

  1. EBooks

I love eBooks. I currently sell a core workout program here. As a health or fitness professional, you can create books that feature healthy recipes, workouts, weight loss tips, etc.

There’s really no limit to what you can do – and once you create the ebook, you can sell it forever! I thought no one would want to read/buy my book, but on my last blog, I sold several every month. It added quite a bit to my income, even with low page views. Psst! I’ve created a free eBook re: starting a blog for my readers, so grab that here!

  2. Printables

Even if you aren’t much for graphic design, you can sell printable downloads to readers. (Yes, people buy them!) Make your own or hire a designer – it’s up to you. I know a blogger making 5 figures MONTHLY just from the printables she sells on her site. (She doesn’t make them, she hires a designer.)

They are simple things like budgeting worksheets, chore charts, planners, etc. As a health or fitness blogger, you could create workout templates, motivational printouts, meal planners, etc. The sky is the limit! Want to see an example? I created a free printable workout game for my readers. <<<  Get it here. >>>

  3. Fitness-Related Stock Images

If you’re good with a camera, another gap in the virtual market seems to be affordable stock images related to fitness. You can sell your images for anywhere from $1-20 per piece, and they can be sold over and over again!

Bloggers like me need pictures of people working out, healthy recipes, gyms, and related. I am not good with a camera so I have to outsource – which is an opportunity for others to earn.

  4. E-Courses

SO many bloggers are making a killing with e-courses, but I have yet to finish one. (I have one started!) Do a little research and you’ll find that many six-figure bloggers are making their money from these courses.

As a health or fitness blogger, virtual product ideas as far as e-courses could be self-love, mental health, essential oil education, etc. Whatever your idea is, there’s someone who will buy it.

  5. Workout Plans

If you’re a CPT or another qualified professional, why not sell workout plans online? It’s a great way to use what you already know to add income. I see a lot of people who aren’t personal trainers selling programs, which I think is wrong, but the truth is that there’s a HUGE market for health & weight loss programs.

There always will be, too! I’m personally in the process of creating a program JUST for c-section recovery, and I’m excited to share it       with you in the Spring of 2018.)

It’s easy to believe that the fitness industry is already saturated with great influencers. Don’t let yourself think that there isn’t room for you in the market. There’s only one YOU! If there’s one thing I learned as a mom blogger (a HEAVILY saturated niche), it’s that your individual story will resonate with people as long as you’re willing to share it.
