I became a personal trainer in 2017 after realizing that fitness was the best way to combat my own postpartum depression.
I’d been on and off anti-depressants since the age of 14, but after having a baby, I knew there had to be another way.
I hired my own personal trainer, started eating better, and ended up working out at least three times per week. Although it was difficult with little kids, I managed to get my workouts in and I finally started to feel good again.
It dawned on me that a defining factor in how I felt each day was whether or not I’d worked out!
So I decided to make the ultimate commitment to fitness by becoming a personal trainer.
But then I had another baby and I realized that personal training wasn’t going to work out for me, at least not for awhile. Trainers have crazy schedules that include super early morning, late nights, and a lot of back-and-forth.
In addition, I realized that although I’d become a personal trainer with the intention of helping other moms, it wasn’t happening that way.
I was writing on my blog and that was reaching some moms, but it wasn’t helping them directly with their fitness journey’s. Plus, the moms that I wanted to help were really unlikely to come meet me for a personal training session.
I really wanted to help new moms, moms with postpartum depression or anxiety, and stay-at-home moms.
But it dawned on me that these moms were the least likely to be going to the gym every day! These moms are either too tired or busy, short on funds, or too anxious or depressed to go anywhere!
It was like, hello!
You need to find another way to be involved with fitness that also helps others!
So I started to research other ways to make the biggest impact. First, I created my own home workout program for core rehabilitation. Then I found more top home workout programs that are perfect for moms (because they’re short but effective) and decided to become a Beachbody coach.
Perks of Home Workout Programs
Now, since I am a personal trainer, I have had fun trying out these top home workout programs (that are 30 minutes or less). I love that they are effective and that there’s something for anyone. But what I love the most is that they can be done at any time, anywhere, and they can be PAUSED! LOL!
Not only do I save a ton of time (and money) by doing these top home workout programs, I can be interrupted without losing workout time.
I mention this because when I used to take my kids to the gym, I’d constantly have my exercise class interrupted because my kids loved to POOP mid-workout! I’d have to stop everything and change them.
I also mention the money thing because my gym membership was $54 per month including childcare. That adds up to a whopping $648 per year, not including the gas to get there several days per week.
Since I started doing these top home workout programs, I feel like I’m racking up the savings big time. That’s because I’m paying less than $9/month for them! Heck yeah!
Anyway, today I’m talking about the top home workout programs that are 30 minutes or less.

2. 21 Day Fix
The 21 Day Fix is famous because it’s the program that features the portion-controlled meal plan. (Yes, the one with the colored food containers.) It’s also run by celebrity trainer Autumn Calabrese. If you struggle with food AND exercise (raises hand) the 21 Day Fix could be your saving grace.
3. Insanity MAX
I’m not going to lie. Insanity MAX is going to kick your butt. But since each workout is only 30 minutes, you’ll be able to handle it. 🙂
4. Country Heat
This is a fun dance workout program set to country music hits. This program came out before I was a Beachbody coach and honestly I was sooo curious about it because I love dancing and I LOVE country music. So naturally it is the first thing I tried when I started doing these top home workout programs. SO MUCH FUN! Get the Country Heat challenge pack here.
5. Mes de Mas
This is a one-month program designed for Spanish speakers. I was excited about this one because my parents both speak Spanish and since it’s short & sweet, it was totally doable for them.
6. 21 Day Fix Extreme
This is for those who are ready to take it to the next level. Like you are ready to blow those New Year’s resolutions OUTTA THE WATER. You will get all of the tools you need to seriously kick butt.
P90X has been around forever, and it’s famous for getting people into amazing shape. P90X3 is the latest version of the Beachbody classic. Prepare to get strong and lean!
8. A Little Obsessed
This is for those of you who want to test out Autumn Calabrese’s 80 Day Obsession before going “all in.” It’s still 30 minute workouts, but this program is short because it’s designed to segue into 80 Day Obsession. A Little Obsessed is available with any Beachbody On Demand subscription.
9. Power Half Hour
This program is just what it sounds like. Get your body working and get some results in just a half hour! This program is also available with any ole’ Beachbody On Demand subscription.
