Hey fellow moms!

I’m Chantal.

I’m a mom of two and a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach.

Welcome to my blog!

Today I want to talk about support systems and accountability when you’re on a health journey.

Embarking on a fitness journey can feel like a big deal, especially when you’re juggling the daily demands of motherhood.

Between school runs, meal preps, and maybe even a job, finding time and energy for yourself can seem nearly impossible.

But here’s a little secret: you don’t have to do it alone.

Building a solid support system can make all the difference in sticking to your fitness goals and actually enjoying the process.

Trust me, as someone who jumped into motherhood with very little support, I know that your “village” can mean a lot.

So – let’s get to my tips on how to build a support system for your health journey.

How to Create a Support System for Your Fitness Journey

1. Start with Family and Friends

Your closest allies are often those right beside you. Talk to your partner, parents, siblings, and best friends about your fitness goals.

Share your plans and explain why this journey is important to you. Ask for their encouragement and maybe even their participation.

A morning walk with a friend or a weekend hike with the family can turn exercise into quality bonding time.

For some people, this is not always easy, and I get that.

However, it’s important for your own mental and physical health that you make an effort to connect with others in this way.

2. Join a Fitness Group

There’s something incredibly motivating about being part of a group with similar goals.

Whether it’s a local running club, a yoga class, or an online fitness community, connecting with others who are on the same path can provide support, accountability, and a sense of camaraderie.

Plus, you might make some new friends along the way!

3. Find a Workout Buddy

Having a workout buddy can be a game-changer. This person could be a friend, a neighbor, or even another mom you met at the park.

The key is to find someone who is reliable and has similar fitness goals. You can motivate each other, share tips, and have someone to chat with during those long workouts.

4. Utilize Social Media

Social media can be a powerful tool for building a support system.

Follow fitness influencers, join Facebook groups, or participate in fitness challenges on Instagram.

These platforms can provide inspiration, advice, and a sense of belonging to a larger community of like-minded individuals.

5. Hire a Professional

Sometimes, having professional guidance can make a world of difference.

Consider hiring a personal trainer or joining a fitness program designed by experts.

Hire a personal trainer

They can provide tailored advice, keep you accountable, and ensure you’re exercising correctly to avoid injuries.

Many trainers also offer online sessions, making it easier to fit into a busy mom’s schedule.

I did this when I was a new mom, and I have never once regretted it.

I learned so much that I carry with me today, and it even inspired me to become a personal trainer myself.

6. Schedule “Me Time”

Treat your fitness time as an essential appointment.

Block out time in your calendar and let your family know that this is your dedicated time for exercise.

Motherhood is unpredictable, and sometimes your fitness goals might need to take a back seat.

What matters is that you pick yourself up and keep going. Your support system will be there to help you get back on track.

I hope this helped you know how to create a support system for your fitness journey!

Remember, building a support system for your fitness journey isn’t just about reaching your goals—it’s about creating a network of people who uplift and encourage you.

With the right support, you’ll find that the journey becomes less daunting and a lot more fun.

So, lace up those sneakers, reach out to your tribe, and take that first step towards a healthier, happier you.

You’ve got this, mama! 💪
