If you’re at that point where you’re not interested in short-term results, this is definitely for you.

Trust me when I say that I’ve been there.

Although I’m a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I have had my fair share of dances with the fad-diet-devil.

I’ve tried fat burner pills, extreme keto, hardcore intermittent fasting, working out 6 days per week, not eating chocolate, and more things I don’t recommend.

That’s because I’m just a regular human just like you. I’ve had my share of weight loss ups and downs, and I struggled for YEARS before finally figuring this weight loss thing out.

I didn’t grow up in sports or fitness, and I most definitely was not ever the “skinny girl” growing up.

Nope, you’re talking to an inherently curvy Latina woman who lost her way after having babies.

(We’re talking a lot of emotional eating and yo-yo dieting.)

After about five years of struggling, I decided to put my foot down and start committing myself to all things health and fitness.

I got the right tools, learned all of the lessons I could and made a TON of mistakes. In the process, I became a trainer & nutrition coach.

Now I’m here to share what I’ve learned with you so that you don’t have to struggle the same way.

What changed the weight loss game?

For me, switching my focus to long-term goals instead of silly/crazy short-term goals was the key to success.

I grew up a little. I’m no longer focused on losing 30 pounds in three months. I’m focused on super slow, super sustainable weight loss.

Now I’m setting super realistic goals with lots of tiny goals built in.

I’ve also figured out what tools are actually worth the time and money (and which ones aren’t).

But know that while these kitchen tools for weight loss are most DEF going to help you along the way, they aren’t going to fix everything for you.

You still have to put in the work.

Luckily, you don’t have to do it all by the end of the month. It’s a slow-and-steady kind of race, y’all.

Nevertheless, making a few good investments will definitely help set you up for success on your journey.

Today I want to share a few of my favorite kitchen tools for weight loss so that you too, can see results!

10 Must-Have Kitchen Tools For Weight Loss

10 Most Helpful Kitchen Tools For Weight Loss

1. Air Fryer

At the top of our list of great kitchen tools for weight loss is the infamous air fryer.

Why? Because you can still get the satisfaction of an crispy crunch, but without all of the extra unhealthy fats (or at least less of it).

It can also help if fewer calories is one of your top priorities, since less fat often translates to less calories.

This is a great way to feel like you’re still eating all of your favorite foods – but with a healthier twist.

Chicken tenders, anyone?

Check out this super highly rated air fryer to add to your kitchen.

2. Slow Cooker / Crockpot

You probably already have a slow cooker by now, but if you don’t you should probably jump on it.

A slow cooker is beneficial in the fact that it makes eating healthy meals a total breeze. They do the work while you’re not around to babysit!

Efficiency is the name of the slow-cooker game.

It does require a tiny bit of planning, but slow cookers make it possible to “make dinner” while you’re out of the house or busy working on other things.

Just dump and go! Then come home to super tender, totally cooked meals.

I personally love to put chicken breast into a Crockpot with broth, taco seasoning and some diced green chilis. Then we just shred (super easy because it’s super tender after 4-6 hours) and have taco night!

A slow cooker is definitely a great tool to have on hand to support your weight loss efforts.

3. Food Processor

A food processor is great for sneaking veggies into well, everything.

Making pasta? Blend up some veggies to add to your sauce.

Making soup? Use the food processor to chop or blend extra veggies for your broth. It’s really a food-prep must if your focus is on homemade meals.

4. Rice Cooker or Instant Pot

Your choice here would depend on what kind of stuff you like to eat. It may also depend on what kitchen tools you already have.

If you’re going to get one or the other, I would suggest an Instant Pot. But if you already have a slow cooker, you may want to just opt for a rice cooker.

Either way, both items will make food preparation just a little bit easier.

The beauty of the Instant Pot is that it can operate like a pressure cooker, rice cooker, slow cooker, and more all-in-one.

Obviously this could be a game-changer when it comes to homemade meals.

5. Food Scale

A good digital kitchen scale will help you hit your weight loss goals sooner by fine-tuning your intake and helping you with portion control.

If you’re tracking your macros, it can be especially helpful.

While I highly suggest a food scale for everyone, it can be a great kitchen tool for weight loss especially if you’re a beginner.

That’s because it will help you get a better, more accurate gauge on the quantity and caloric value of what you’re consuming.

Using a scale will help you get a good sense for reasonable and healthy portions – and hold you accountable when you go a little overboard.

Pro tip: Small plate = small portion. If you struggle with portion control, smaller plates are a worthy investment, too.

6. Meal Prep Containers

If you struggle to get fresh vegetables in your diet or you struggle with protein intake, meal prep containers are a must.

They also help you resist temptation and reach for other foods when your motivation is failing you. (And they also help with portion control!)

I love these glass meal prep containers because they can go from hot to cold and back again without any chemicals leaching into your food. They can also go in the freezer!

Don’t sleep on meal prep containers, friends! They are some of the best tools for weight loss. So get in the habit of weekly food prep to help you eat nutrition meals.

7. Muffin Tin

This may sound weird if you aren’t in the world of fitness & meal preps just yet, but trust me here.

You will want a good muffin tin (and maybe some silicone baking cups and non-stick pans) when you start to get serious about meal preps.

That’s because you’ll be baking all of the protein muffins, the egg white cups, and mini quiches you can.

Try my feta & spinach egg muffin cups here.

So yeah, go ahead and make sure that you have some muffin tins on hand. They will make your early mornings so much easier – and healthier!

8. Blender Bottle

If you don’t have a cabinet full of blender bottles yet, what are you even doing?

Blender Bottles are a super affordable kitchen tool that you’re definitely going to want. (Honestly I recommend having at least 2, but you’ll probably be collecting them soon anyway.)

Having some of these bottles (also known as shaker bottles) will help you mix up protein shakes, meal replacements, and other supplements on-the-go.

While I don’t recommend replacing your food with shakes & supps, it can be super helpful when it comes to “oh crap” moments or when you’re trying to increase your protein.

I use protein shakes and meal replacements when I’m in a pinch with time & good food options. It’s the best way to get decent nutrition when you’re in a bind!

So go invest in a couple of good Blender Bottles so that you can have a back-up plan for nutrition, too. I promise that it will help you on your journey!

9. Smoothie Blender

Do you struggle to get spinach and other veggies down the hatch? (Raises hand.) Smoothies are where it’s at!

Get more healthy foods into your diet easily with a smoothie blender. This is seriously a great way to get those greens in.

I personally prefer a smoothie-specific blender for all of my smoothies because it reduces the amount of dishes I have to wash and makes portion sizes easier!

I have this particular Ninja Smoothie blender and love it!

Try this recipe: 1/2 banana + 4 oz milk + 4 oz water + 1 tsp nut butter + handful of spinach + ice + vanilla protein powder. YUM! Full recipe details here!

10. Vegetable Steamer

Ah yes, the trusty veggie steamer! I personally use a simple vegetable steamer basket (the regular stainless steel type) but they make all sorts of fancy steamers these days.

If you’re not into manually steaming your veggies (which is super helpful for bulk meal prep) then there are plenty of cool electric steamers out there.

We know that steamed veggies are great in terms of nutritional value (compared to boiled or baked). We also know that steamed is better than fried or cooked in oil.

That being said, a steamer is sure to help you on your weight loss journey.

Other Helpful Kitchen Tools for Weight Loss

  • Smaller plate sets for a smaller serving size
