Hi there! My name is Chantal, and I’m the blogger behind Ironwild Fitness. Welcome!
To give you a little background, I’m a mom, certified personal trainer, and recipe addict always on the hunt for new healthy recipes. I’m always on Pinterest, and I actually like to try the recipes I save. 🙂
As a mom, finding ways to keep dinner easy and healthy is a continuous struggle. My kids are at the age where they’re starting to get unnecessarily picky, making dinner time sort of frustrating sometimes. (They are 3 and 6.) I want them to eat, but I don’t want to fight with them. If I can get them to eat something healthy, it’s a win all the way around.
Today I want to share some healthy sheet pan dinner ideas that are great for choosy families and little people. There are some great perks to sheet pan dinners, and they’re always a great idea for busy weeknights.
If you haven’t ever tried sheet pan meals, one of the best things about them is how much time and effort you can save on dishes and cookware. (Less washing, less water, less mess.)
You literally just spread everything you want to eat onto one pan, then bake and enjoy! Plus, you can easily customize most healthy sheet pan dinners to tailor them to your preferences. (Or those of your picky eaters.) It’s easy to swap things out, and once you start making them, you’ll develop your own idea of the perfect sheet pan meal.
The sheet pan idea also makes it easy for eaters to either pick out only what they want to eat and pick from the pan. The more variety you have, the easier it is to make everyone happy!
So today I want to share some of my favorite go-to healthy sheet pan dinner ideas, as well as some really delicious ideas I’ve found from other bloggers. Once you have a few sheet pan dinners under your belt, you’ll see just how easy and convenient they are. Trust me!
10 Healthy Sheet Pan Dinner Ideas
This healthy sheet pan dinner looks so amazing (and colorful!). Plus, you can easily pair it with some white or brown rice to make it even more filling and delicious! (Without the rice, it’s Whole 30 and Paleo friendly!) If you’re into sweet & savory meals, this is perfect for you.
This classic combo of chicken, baby red potatoes, and green beens is wholesome and nourishing…and it looks delicious! You can make it low-carb by skipping the potatoes. Or, it would be really good with sweet potatoes. I can’t wait to try this one out!
If you haven’t already discovered the world of kielbasa + sheet pan dinners, consider starting with this one! Kielbasa is super versatile and pairs well with almost any veggie. Plus, they make some pretty great turkey kielbasa, so you can keep this dinner lean and mean if you want to! This is one of my favorite sheet pan dinners because you don’t have to worry about the “doneness” of the meat, and you can easily change up the sausage type to your liking. (We love chicken sausage.)
How can you go wrong with a combo like steak and potatoes? This easy sheet pan dinner is a great combo, and if you don’t like asparagus (which is what the recipe calls for), you can easily swap out the veggies or have a big green salad on the side! I think broccoli and cauliflower would be a great combo with this one if you don’t do asparagus like my little people.
This recipe is an easy choice for me because of two things. Not only is Chinese food a constant YES for me, but this recipe is a go-to because it only takes about 15 minutes to make! You can also opt to make this a more robust meal by adding easy white rice. (My picky eaters almost always go for rice.) You won’t regret it!
Salmon is SO good for you, so if it’s not already in your diet, I highly recommend adding it for those Omega-3s! (These omegas are really good for your heart.) This easy sheet pan dinner idea is perfect with asparagus and potatoes, but if you’re not into that, you can easily go for broccoli, green beans, or a green salad on the side.
Shrimp doesn’t take very long to cook, making this a super quick-and-easy meal idea. However, this recipe has a very Mediterranean vibe with the olives, herbs, and feta. (Easily swapped out for a different flavoring, though.) If you’re tired of boring weeknight dinners, this is a must-try!
Mexican-inspired cuisine is easily my favorite overall, and fajitas definitely fall into that *LOVE* category. I personally love peppers and onions, but if you don’t, you can skip one and still consider this recipe “fajitas.” (You can also opt for chicken and keep everything else the same if you want.) For a low-carb dinner, simply eat these as-is, or try on top of a big green salad! Of course, you can always add in some tortillas and all of the typical trimmings if you want. I love cilantro and green salsa with almost all Mexican dishes.
This recipe looks PERFECT for fall (with the apples and sweet potatoes) but it would be good any ole time if you ask me! I’m a sweet potato lover myself, but when paired with pork chops, it’s somehow even better. Plus, if you haven’t tried baked apples before, you’re really missing out. Something about this sweet & savory combination is just soooo good. Give it a try as-is, or swap out the apples for a green veggie. 🙂
Averie seriously has this healthy sheet pan dinner thing DOWN! I am a gardener myself and summer squash is a favorite of mine as far as things to grow. But there comes a time each summer when I am up to my eyeballs in zucchini and yellow crookneck squash. While I typically love to grill these two, an easy sheet pan dinner paired with chicken sounds great, too. Plus, imagine this recipe with garden-fresh tomatoes straight out of the garden. Winner! Go check out this recipe!
