Before I worked with my own personal trainer (long before becoming one myself), I was one of those people who had NO clue what to do when it came to exercise. I knew that I had to move, but since I didn’t really know how to use most of the equipment at the gym, I was also kind of a treadmill or elliptical girl.
Honestly, I wouldn’t know how to structure workouts even if I did have experience with the equipment at the gym.
So most days, I’d show up to the gym, crank out 30 minutes on the elliptical, maybe do a few crunches and bicep curls, and be done.
I was intimidated by all of the people who looked like they knew what they what they were doing, and I was also just really limited in my knowledge of an effective workout.
Learning How to Plan Effective Workouts
While I will always advocate moving your body in any way you can (some is better than none), I’m glad I know what I do now! There are more effective ways to move your body if you’re short on time, space, or equipment.
However, there are always days that we don’t have a lot of time, space, or energy to plan an elaborate workout. But that doesn’t mean we can’t have effective ones!
I created this free workout game (which I call Wildcard) to take the guesswork out of getting your exercise in. I love it because every time you workout, it’s different! Plus, anyone can do it in a pretty small space and it can easily be tailored to your needs.
The key to getting the most out of the Wildcard game is to limit your rest in between exercises.
You can hit cardio and strengthening goals by doing this.
For Those Days Where Planning A Workout Feels Like Too Much
Life happens. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t always want to plan a crazy workout. But I know I am likely to sell myself short and underperform if I don’t have SOME plan, even if it’s a loose one. The Wilcard workout game helps me be able to take the guesswork out of my exercise time every now and then. Plus it’s fun!
If you want to be able to use this free workout game over and over, I recommend cutting all of the cards out. Then you can either put them in a little baggie just so, or laminate those babies so that they stay nice for many workouts to come.
